IntegrityStar UCF Compliance & Ethics Newsletter UCF Compliance & Ethics Newsletter

A message from Rhonda L. Bishop

What is the meaning of ethics? What drives ethical failures? This third edition of the IntegrityStar focuses on these simple but thought provoking questions. In this edition, you will find an article on ethics, including real examples of ethical dilemmas faced by UCF employees, a framework for ethical decision making that all employees can use when faced with such dilemmas, a short video on ethical failures, and a cartoon that emphasizes how important all employees are to creating an ethical culture here at UCF. We also share a story about a UCF employee who exceeded expectations to do the right thing. We’d love to hear your thoughts on ethics, please email us at complianceandethics@ucf.edu.

For the second year in a row, UCF is celebrating Compliance and Ethics week. Compliance and Ethics week is celebrated nationally the first full week of November each year. During November 7-11, 2016, University Compliance, Ethics, and Risk will schedule activities to raise awareness on compliance and ethics topics and the role of our office. Be sure to read the article for more information on the activities and see how you can participate.

This edition also includes an article from UCF Human Resources on important changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act that go into effect this December. These changes will affect many of our employees, so please be sure to read this article.

As always, if you have suggestions for future topics, please send them to complianceandethics@ucf.edu.
