Recognition

We are pleased that one of our compliance partners, Joel Levenson, associate director for Tax, Division of Finance and Accounting, was appointed by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as one of six new members for the Information Reporting Program Advisory Committee (IRPAC). The six new members will join 13 returning members for three-year terms.

The IRPAC provides a public forum for the discussion of tax information reporting issues between the IRS and representatives of the public. This committee shall present an annual report to the IRS Commissioner. “Information reporting is a critically important part of our tax law, and public input on effective operation of information reporting systems is essential,” IRS Commissioner John Koskinen said. “The new IRPAC members bring a wealth of experience as well as insight that we are fortunate to have.”

We asked Joel if there was something in particular he wanted to share about compliance and working for UCF. He provided the following message:

“I feel protective of UCF working in a compliance role for my alma mater. I want to be sure that no harm comes to UCF that could do damage to our good name. Being a part of the Compliance and Ethics Group has been great, as it is reassuring that UCF is putting resources into the various Federal, State and Local requirements we’re required to comply with. GO KNIGHTS!”
