Reporting known or suspected misconduct in the workplace is essential for maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all employees. It also reinforces your commitment to ethical behavior and integrity. The first article in this edition of the IntegrityStar, is related to the UCF IntegrityLine, the university’s anonymous reporting line, which will soon transition to a new streamlined platform making reporting easier. Please read this article and the FAQs to learn more about the transition. You can also watch the video on what to expect when you submit an IntegrityLine report. This edition’s Case Corner also serves as a reminder of the reporting options available to the university community.
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and each year we use this month as an opportunity to educate the campus community on the university’s Youth Protection Program. We have included an article dedicated to the standards and best practices program staff should follow when supervising minor participants in youth programs. Please read this article to familiarize yourself with the do’s and don’ts for interacting with minors during programs and camps.
The third article brings awareness to the UCF Police Department’s Avoid Deny Defend campaign. This campaign was developed to help prepare the UCF community in the event of an active threat situation. Please be sure to read it and watch the video to learn how you can help keep yourself and others safe in this type of emergency.
Finally, this edition includes a recap of the activities hosted for Data Privacy Day held in January 2025, provides information on policies and regulations that became effective since the previous IntegrityStar, and recognizes a former student intern for his contributions to the university’s comprehensive compliance and ethics program.
