Integrity is one of the fundamental principles of our UCF Ethical Standards that we are all expected to follow. Conducting university business with integrity involves being honest and transparent in our actions and making good faith reports of misconduct when we have knowledge that a violation of law, regulation, statute, UCF regulation, policy, procedure, guideline, or standard of conduct has occurred, or will occur. Each year our office publishes an annual report summarizing investigative work conducted at UCF in response to reports received related to misconduct. This edition of the IntegrityStar includes the 2023 IntegrityLine Report as well as an article on how to report misconduct. Please read these articles to better familiarize yourself with the reporting and investigative process at UCF.
Another important article included in this edition provides information on the Fair Labor Standards Act revisions that became effective on July 1, 2024, related to the increase in the minimum salary threshold for overtime pay. More information on these changes can be found in the FAQs section of this edition as well.
Finally, this edition’s Case Corner addresses a substantiated IntegrityLine investigation, the Privacy Points section provides guidelines and best practices when using emerging technologies for university business, and we recognize an administrator for his contributions to the university’s comprehensive compliance and ethics program.
Thank you all for taking the time to read the IntegrityStar. As always, we welcome your suggestions for topics as well as your feedback. Please write to us at complianceandethics@ucf.edu.
