Headshot of Rhonda Bishop, Vice President for Compliance, Ethics, and Risk

Each year my office prepares and issues a report containing a summary of the types of reports submitted through the UCF IntegrityLine, the investigative outcomes, and any trends that have been identified. Through these trends the university can develop training, new or revised policies and procedures, and raise awareness on a specific topic to help improve the ethical culture at our institution while supporting UCF’s goal to be a best place to learn and work. Please take a moment to read this article to learn about the types of reports received during the last calendar year, the actions UCF has taken to reduce the trend identified, and watch a brief video on how you can help to further improve respect in the workplace. This edition’s Case Corner section also covers a report received as part of the 2022 IntegrityLine Report.

Another article in this edition of the IntegrityStar focuses on how university level policies are developed and recent updates made to this process. Please take a moment to read this article and the accompanying FAQs to familiarize yourself with the importance of the policy development process at UCF. This edition’s third article focuses on a new policy, Time and Effort Reporting. This article summarizes the policy requirements and procedures on the reporting process. This edition’s Privacy Points section also includes information on the new Controlled Unclassified Information Policy, and please join us in celebrating our recent IntegrityStar Award winner, a faculty member, for their continuous support of the university’s Comprehensive Compliance and Ethics Program.

Thank you all for taking the time to read the IntegrityStar. As always, we welcome your suggestions for topics as well as your feedback. Please write to us at complianceandethics@ucf.edu.
