Privacy Tips while Traveling

by Dan LoPresto, Director of Privacy Compliance

Travel much? Whether you travel for work, pleasure, or both, even if not that often, keeping data privacy in mind is a MUST!

So how do you keep data safe while traveling? Here are a few tips from NortonLifeLock Inc.:

  • Book travel from secure websites
  • Enable passcodes/PINs on mobile devices before you leave home
  • Disable/Turn off Bluetooth connectivity
  • Only use password-protected wireless networks
  • Use a Virtual Privacy Network (VPN)
  • Check your sensitive accounts regularly
  • Leave smart devices in a hotel safe
  • Do not broadcast your travel on social media (until you are back home)
