Working together to keep UCF Safe
Dr. Brett Meade, Deputy Chief of Police
The size and complexity of the University of Central Florida creates a unique charge when it comes to providing a safe environment for our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. UCF hosts more events, addresses more issues, and is faced with more challenges in a single semester than most universities handle in several years. While each of us brings different perspectives and experiences to our specific roles on campus, we are all responsible for the safety and security of the community we serve. As UCF strives to fulfill our promises and execute strategies to achieve our collective impact, safety must be at the forefront of our mission.
Campus Security and Crisis Response
Jeff Morgan, Director
Hayley Markman, Emergency Management Coordinator
The Department of Security and Emergency Management is comprised of two mission areas that work towards the same goal: keeping UCF secure and resilient.
Security Management
Security Management (SM) was formed in 2014 with the purpose of managing campus-wide security programs.
Emergency Management
Emergency Management’s (EM) mission is to prepare the university by enhancing partnerships and coordinating all activities necessary to build, sustain, and improve the resiliency of UCF.
Environmental Health and Safety at UCF
Renee Michel, Director
The vision of the UCF Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is to support the university goals of academic excellence, leadership, and diversity. In this context, our mission is to encourage, support, and promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship that is embraced as a core value by the entire campus community.
